Asia Cup 2016 will be played in T20 format keeping T20 world cup 2016 into account. This tournament is shifting from ODI Format to T20 format for the first time since 1984. Sri Lanka is the defending champions. They won 2014 Asia cup against Pakistan by 5 wickets in Bangladesh. T20 Asia Cup schedule 2016 begins on Wednesday February 24 in Bangladesh with a total of eleven T20 matches as per cricket schedule announced by ICC. The 13th edition of Asia Cup in 2016 is 12 days long tournament in T20 format from 24 February to 6 March 2016.
T20 Asia Cup 2016 schedule and fixtures has been announced and below is the list of entire tournament matches where 5 teams will participate. Every team will play 1 match against every other team. Thats 4 games for every team and the top 2 will contest the final on 05 march 2016
Along these 4 regular teams, there is 1 Associate member which will be found by playing a qualifier to be played from 19th to 22nd Feb 2016.  From Next year, Asia Cup Cricket will be played in the alternate format. ICC announced that it will be played in rotation basis of 50 over competition or in T20 format. Next Asia cup Cricket is played in 2018
Bangladesh will host Asia cup 2016 this time and the matches will be played between Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan from 24 February-06 March 2016. Bangladesh has played some awesome cricket matches at home recently and this will give them a huge chance to win Asia cup t20 series.
It is very hard to predict who will win the Asia Cup T20 2016 as the test playing teams are almost of same categories in terms of strength. Asia Cup 2016 will be held in Bangladesh.
